Laura Edgerton is a writer and photographer based near Nashville, Tennessee.
She is seeking agent representation for her completed literary novel, GOOD CHRISTIAN GIRL, which is about childhood religious trauma that continues into adulthood. She is currently at work on the sequel.
As a photographer, Laura explores mental health themes through self-portraits, often shooting from the distorted perspective of long exposures. She is working on a series entitled The Chair, which analyzes the emotions behind everyday routines as they happen around an inanimate object. She is also developing a photo essay series called Churches in the South, which portrays anonymous church lots from the personal lens of the psychological ramifications of religious abuse and their impact on mental illness.
